Professional Expertise—Whether they’re working toward a career in feature films, games, TV, or advertising, and whether they prefer 3D computer or 2D traditional, students have access to the specialists they need. They learn directly from the critiques and guidance of professionals from Disney, DreamWorks, Sony and many other studios in On-Air telecasts and online, 24-7. Portfolio Development—Students develop online portfolios of work approved by the professionals as “studio-ready.” Many studios hire graduates directly from their ACME experience with students. Authentic Assessment—Teachers see everything their students draw, write and say, online and on-air. They use this information and the feedback from the professionals to guide their students toward higher achievement. Teacher Learning—Most ACME teachers never taught or studied animation, and learn to teach it as they go. In addition to the professional expertise, ACME teachers have their own mutually-supporting educator community. Community Mentoring Connection—Online, RSA’s students and faculty inspire young students in the Riverside area, long before they graduate from high school. Students in ACME classes in the surrounding community will come to RSA better prepared in the arts and better informed about RSA because of the mentoring they receive from our students and faculty. |
